Ballarat businesses have declared war on thieves following a spate of break-ins where vandals have wreaked havoc.

Businesses met to combine ideas in order to help prevent more break-ins, damage and loss.

Ideas to deter criminals included security cameras (CCTV installation), increased lighting and guard dogs.
